Meet The Counselors

Sha Biddix is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in depression, grief, trauma, and prenatal/postpartum mood disorders. She works with adults in individual counseling and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence‑based care. Sha earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Meredith College, a Master’s in Non‑Profit Management from Regis University, and a Master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama.

Sha takes an individualized, client‑centered approach, helping each person identify their needs and move toward meaningful therapeutic goals. She offers a warm, non‑judgmental safe space where clients feel supported throughout their healing journey. Her therapeutic style integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, person‑centered counseling, strength‑based techniques, mindfulness‑based stress reduction, and trauma‑focused therapy.

Outside of her professional work, Sha enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, and reading.

Teresa Shekerjian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with clients ages 15 and up, helping them build self‑confidence, strengthen their relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. She supports clients in exploring the relationships that have shaped them—past and present—and identifying ways to create healthier, more fulfilling connections. This often includes developing stronger boundaries, increasing assertiveness, and addressing fears that may be limiting their ability to live a satisfying life. Teresa recognizes that many of these patterns stem from early experiences, including family dynamics or school environments, and she helps clients understand and heal from those roots.

Teresa’s approach centers on guiding clients as they navigate what it means to be an individual in a complex world. She believes that meaningful change begins with self‑awareness—understanding our needs, values, and the person we want to become. At the heart of her work is the belief that the most important relationship we will ever have is the one we have with ourselves. Teresa provides a warm, supportive space where clients can explore these themes and move toward greater clarity, confidence, and well‑being.

Outside of her professional work she loves spending time with her dog, friends, and family.

William J. Donovan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and founder of Albany Winds of Change. Bill works with adolescents and adults ages 12 and up, using an eclectic therapeutic approach grounded in the belief that there is no single method that fits every client. Bill provides both individual and couples counseling, and has facilitated more than 500 groups with a focus on anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use, depression, and PTSD.

He is committed to helping clients understand the internal mechanisms behind their emotions and thoughts, offering clear explanations of the “why” beneath their experiences to support meaningful insight and positive growth. Bill creates a supportive, collaborative environment where clients can explore challenges, build coping skills, and develop a deeper sense of self‑awareness. His approach blends education, practical strategies, and individualized care to help clients move toward greater emotional balance and resilience.

Outside of his professional work, Bill enjoys playing billiards, collecting baseball cards, spending time in nature, caring for his reptiles and staying active through exercise.
